Debut at Teatro di San Carlo
Mr. Smith returns to Italy this Winter, to makes his house debut at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, in a new production of Dvořák’s Rusalka, performing the role of The Prince.
Verdi Requiem Debut
After making his debut as Radamès in Aida at Opéra de Rouen, Mr. Smith makes his debut in another work by Verdi, as the tenor in Verdi’s Requiem on 11th October.

Mr. Smith kicks off the new season with both a role and house debut as Radamès in Verdi’s Aida at Opéra de Rouen in Normandy, France.
Debut at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence
After a successful house debut at the Royal Opera House, Mr. Smith returns to the role of Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly as he makes his Festival d’Aix-en-Provence debut. His recent performance at San Diego Opera was praised by San Diego Story, which claimed: “Smith created a compelling, seamless dramatic arc from the bravado of his first meeting with his Japanese geisha, to authentic ardor as they consummate their marriage, to intense remorse when he returns to Nagasaki three years later to face the tragedy he has brought on Cio-Cio-San.”
Royal opera house debut
This month, Mr. Smith makes his unexpected debut at the Royal Opera House, jumping in as Don José in Bizet’s Carmen. Operawire praised his performance of the role with Tulsa Opera, claiming: “Smith is a true tenor in a golden-age tradition with a powerful clarion sound blessed with a warm center and steely edge… he was undoubtedly an audience favorite.”
Mr. Smith Joins GM Art and Music
It has just been announced that Mr. Smith has joined GM Art and Music for worldwide management. The agency’s director, Gianluca Macheda, will be managing Mr. Smith for both opera and concerts.
Madama Butterfly at San Diego Opera
This Spring, Mr. Smith returns to the US to make his house debut with San Diego Opera, in the role of Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.
German Debut
In March, Mr. Smith makes his German debut at the Staatsoper Hamburg to perform one of his most beloved roles, Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca.
Les Arts Valencia House Debut
To begin the new year, after his successful debut as Roméo with Washington National Opera, Mr. Smith makes his next house debut of the season, at Les Arts in Valencia. He reprises the role of The Prince in Dvořák’s enchanting opera, Rusalka.

2023/24 Season
In a highly anticipated 2023/24 season, Mr. Smith performs two role debuts and several house debuts. He kicks off the season at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, taking on the role of Turiddu in Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, under the baton of Maestro Roberto Kalb - marking his role and house debut.
Madama Butterfly at Cincinnati Opera
This July, Mr. Smith makes his debut performing the role of B.F. Pinkerton in Puccini’s infamous tragedy, Madama Butterfly at Cincinnati Opera.
Debut as Boris in Janáček’s Káť’a Kabanová
Following his performances as Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santa Domingo in Colombia, Mr. Smith returns to Europe to make his house debut and role debut singing Boris in Janáček’s Kát’a Kabanová at the Opéra national de Lyon in France.
Tosca at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santa Domingo in Bogotá, Colombia
This February, Mr. Smith makes a return to Colombia to perform the role of Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santa Domingo in Bogotá, a role which he performed there during the premiere of this Pedro Salazar production in 2021.
Italian Debut
After a successful debut at Greek National Opera, Mr. Smith makes his Italian debut, performing the role of Erik in Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
Les Contes d’Hoffmann at Greek National Opera
Mr. Smith makes his house debut at Greek National Opera, returning to the title role in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann. His debut performance of the role at Opéra national de Bordeaux in 2019 was described by Forum Opera as a “revelation.”
