Debut at Staatsoper Berlin

This February, Mr. Smith makes his house debut at the Staatsoper Berlin as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. His performance at San Diego Opera was described by the San Diego Story as “[displaying] that rich Italianate color Puccini demands for his dashing Lieutenant Pinkerton”. Puccini forms an important part of Mr. Smith’s repertoire, which also includes Rodolfo in La bohème. 

Under the baton of Carlo Montanaro, Mr. Smith shares the stage with Maria Agresta as Cio-Cio-San, Natalia Skrycka as Suzuki, and Carles Pachon as Sharpless.
